Week 41--May 31-June 6, 2020
Part of our summer sisters arrived on Monday. They will be here for 3-3 1/2 months and then are assigned to other missions for the remainder of their mission.
Pictured front: Sister Brock, Sister Anderson, Sister Kinne, and Sister Randall.
Back: Sister Kinikini, Sister Burdge, and Sister Greenwood.
We have seen a cottontail rabbit out in the grass to the side of our apartment building. In the center of the picture is a white place. The rabbit is in front of the plate.
He decided to venture to the edge of the grass.
Now it's time to venture across the parking lot.
Ah! I made it to the other side where the grass is greener and tastier.
The rabbit is directly below our apartment deck nibbling on the grass.

We have been going out early to walk when it is cooler. The cemetery doesn't open until a little after 7 AM so we have been walking in the neighborhoods across from our apartment building. On Thursday we saw this rabbit on our walk. We don't know if it is our rabbit or another one. On Friday we saw another rabbit in a different area. Either we have a very adventuresome rabbit or the area has more than one.
We senior missionaries are tasked with training the new missionaries as they arrive. Our guidelines are spelled out in a new historic sites manual, "On Holy Ground." Our first lesson was Friday, on "Your Missionary Library." In order to insure accuracy we talked about the importance of using only the Site Guide and Saints as sources for the stories we use during tours. The lesson went very well, and the sisters are eager to learn so they can be effective missionaries. Sister Cannon asked us to all go to "Relatives near me" on the Family Search app. Surprisingly, every one of the sisters is related to one or both of us. Also, since Friday was "National Donut Day" we decided to reat the sisters to tasty donuts.
We also received an email from Sister Emma Harrington in the mission just west of us. In fact at this moment she is located at Lawrence, Kansas, just 50 miles away. She asked if we would allow her and her companion to teach us the missionary lessons. It's great practice for the missionaries. Of course we said yes. Meeting schedule still to be determined.
